This building's been through a lot since 1847 - different owners, different purposes, even survived a few close calls with the wrecking ball. We bought it about a decade back and spent way too much money (and time, honestly) bringing it back to life.
The goal wasn't to turn it into some museum where you're afraid to touch anything. We wanted people to actually enjoy staying here. So yeah, we kept the original moldings and the grand staircase, but we also ripped out all the old plumbing and wiring and started fresh.
It's been featured in a bunch of magazines and architectural journals, which is cool, but what matters more is that guests keep coming back. That tells us we're doing something right.
